Since 1970, each summer, thousands of high school students come to Windy Gap for a week of high adventure and a chance to consider a relationship with God in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains!
Since 1970, students from around the country have been coming with their local Young Life groups and leaders to play hard with each other, eat great food and laugh a lot. They meet new people from around the country, try new activities and hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ presented in a way teens can understand.
Whether it's gallopping horseback through wooded trails, zipping through our high ropes course, racing to victory on our Naskarts, climbing to the top of our 50 foot tower, losing your stomach on "Ole' Yeller" the giant swing, or barrelling down the water slide into the Windy Gap lake - you can count on high adventure at Windy Gap!
And if that is not enough...there are other great surprises and activities that you will just have to wait and experience for yourself. Let's just say there is much much more!
If you need some quiet down-time, there are plenty of places around camp with rocking chairs, lobbies, and great views of the surrounding mountains where you can unwind during free time.
The Country Store has everything you want: t-shirts, books, gifts and more. At the Sippin' Parlor, you can enjoy a famous Cheerwine slushie, ice cream, shakes, candy bars and more.
It makes no difference if one is young or old, we guarantee that our guests will have the "best week of their lives".
How can my child attend Windy Gap?
For summer and weekend camps, all spots are given out to individual Young Life areas. Those areas fill their allocated spots with kids from their town. If you are interested in attending Windy Gap or finding out how to send your child to camp here, give your local Young Life office a call. They might not be attending camp at Windy Gap, but they most likely have a trip planned to one of Young Life’s other fabulous properties!
